Music and Technology in Boston, Round Two

Last month we brought you Boston: The Hidden Hub of Music and Technology, a look at the surprisingly large but previously under-reported cluster of local startups that are mixing up music, software, computing, and the Web in various innovative ways. Readers responded eagerly to our piece, and thanks to their comments and suggestions, we’ve come up with seven new listings to add to our original group of 14 companies.

We’ve folded our newest writeups into the original story, but just for convenience, here’s a list of the additions:

  • AdME
  • Bandsintown
  • Nellymoser
  • Sonivox
  • Tourb.us
  • Tourfilter
  • Venue Czar
  • As busy as the music scene is in Boston, we’re sure we’ve missed some companies that deserve to be on our list. If so, please let us know by leaving a comment.

Also, keep an eye on Xconomy for an announcement about our big January 2008 networking event, a battle of the the bands featuring musicians from some of your favorite local firms and universities. If your band is interested in participating, e-mail us at [email protected].
