Illumina (NASDAQ:[[ticker:ILMN]]), a San Diego-based provider of genetic and biological research tools, says it has formed an commercial alliance with Oxford Nanopore Technologies, an Oxford, England, developer of a single-molecule DNA sequencing system. Illumina will invest $18 million in Oxford as part of the deal, under which Illumina will exclusively sell and distribute Oxford’s experimental system worldwide.
