Xconomy’s Battle of the Tech Bands 2: The Video

If you missed Xconomy’s Battle of the Tech Bands 2 on January 22, now you can experience the next best thing: our video sampler. And if you didn’t miss the event—hey, now you can relive it!

Embedded below, the video has great footage of Anomopoly (winner of the Most Innovative Band award), The Main Drag (an incredible band whose members are all from Cambridge, MA-based Harmonix Music), and The Dirty Truckers (winners of the Audience Favorite vote). The video also includes a great number performed by Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives, featuring Xconomy’s own Greg Huang on bass.  (And yes, that’s me in the penguin suit.)

Half of the ticket proceeds from the Battle of the Tech Bands 2 benefited Science Club for Girls and Community Music Center of Boston. The winning bands walked away with great prizes donated by Boston firms Nimbit and Bristol Studios, and a few lucky audience members went home with fabulous door prizes donated by Harmonix, iRobot, and Microsoft. The whole rundown on the event, the winners, and the sponsors and supporters who made it all possible is here.

Many thanks to our videographer Mark Woit, son of Xconomy publisher Steve Woit.
