Spitzbergen The polar bear is most famous victim of the vanishing ice. I came across this big male tearing a seal to pieces for lunch. It is ironic that the biggest and most feared land predator on our planet is so vulnerable. Polar bears cannot survive without ice to provide a platform for them to hunt seals, and the seals cannot survive without ice to build dens for their pups. |
