Art Technology Group (NASDAQ: [[ticker:ARTG]]), the Cambridge, MA-based provider of e-commerce software and services, announced today that it has acquired Seattle-based InstantService, which offers SaaS-based live chat services, for $17 million in cash. ATG said the acquisition will make it easier for its clients to offer live text-based chat with customer service agents as an option for e-commerce site visitors.
