NanoString Technologies, the Seattle-based developer of genetic analysis tools, said today it has named William Young as its new executive chairman. Young is the chairman of Cambridge, MA-based Biogen Idec (NASDAQ: [[ticker:BIIB]]]), and formerly was chairman and CEO of Monogram Biosciences, and chief operating officer of Genentech. NanoString is still seeking a permanent CEO to replace Perry Fell, who retains a board seat, according to a company spokeswoman.
