The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Seattle “Grand Challenges Summit” is coming on May 2-3. Our topics are “Engineer Better Medicines” and “Engineer the Tools of Scientific Discovery”. New York Times correspondent John Markoff will emcee the conference and we’ve pulled together a number of impressive keynote speakers from both industry and academia, including Larry Smarr (UC San Diego), Nicholas Peppas (UT Austin), and Mike Griffin (former NASA), as well as our own Suzie Pun (BioE) and Ed Lazowska (CSE). Panel moderators include Bruce Montgomery (Gilead Sciences, Inc.) and Bonnie Dunbar (Museum of Flight).
