Connect has organized this presentation by Gary S. Firestein of UC San Diego’s School of Medicine, a specialist in allergy and immunology, and director of the Clinical and Translational Research Institute (CTRI). Translational research has the ability to transform scientific discoveries, taking them out of the laboratory and into practical clinical applications at the patient’s bedside. To decrease barriers that inhibit productivity and the rapid translation of research progress into new therapies, UC San Diego has developed the Clinical and Translational Research Institute (CTRI). Through CTRI, new models for biomarkers and imaging-based studies are being implemented. Registration and lunch begins at noon, or register online here.
