Memorial Service for Theraclone CEO Dave Fanning Set for Tuesday

Here’s a quick update to the obituary about Theraclone Sciences CEO David Fanning. A memorial service has been scheduled for 1:30 pm on Tuesday, June 22, at Grace Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island, 8595 NE Day Road.

Directions can be found on the church website. Steve Gillis, the managing director of Arch Venture Partners and a longtime friend of Fanning’s, notes that the church is about a 10 minute car or cab ride from the ferry terminal. There is a 12:20 pm ferry that leaves Seattle and would arrive on Bainbridge at 1 pm. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service.

A separate memorial service is being planned in Boston for later this summer, Gillis says.

The family has also asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The foundation is seeking a cure for Type 1 diabetes, which was a passion of Fanning’s, Gillis says.
