Mountain View, CA-based Axcient, which provides backup and disaster recovery services to managed service providers serving small and medium sized businesses, has collected $9 million out of a potential $10 million in equity-based Series B funding, according to a July 14 regulatory filing. The funders were undisclosed. Axcient last raised $6 million in a May 2009 Series A round with Thomvest Ventures, Allegis Capital, and Peninsula Equity Partners participating.
