San Francisco-based Inkling announced Friday the release of an iPad app that displays interactive digital textbooks. Aimed at college students, the program allows in-app purchases of textbooks, including McGraw-Hill texts on biology, economics, marketing, and psychology. Inkling also said that it has collected an unspecified amount of Series A venture financing from Sequoia Capital, Felicis Ventures, Kapor Capital, and Sherpalo Ventures. Sequoia partner Bryan Schreier and former Netscape CFO Peter Currie have joined the company’s board.
