Alder Wins Fierce 15 Honor

Alder Biopharmaceuticals, the Bothell, WA-based maker of antibody drugs, was honored today as one of the nation’s 15 most promising biotech companies, in the annual Fierce 15 list published by FierceBiotech. Alder emerged from the ashes of Celltech R&D back in 2003 to secure a billion-dollar partnership last year from Bristol-Myers Squibb to develop a new drug for rheumatoid arthritis. Alder was the only Seattle-area biotech company to make the list this year. Last year’s class of 15 included Seattle-based Calistoga Pharmaceuticals.
