$12M for Life Image

Life Image, a Newton, MA-based firm, has apparently found more investment to support its business of providing software for the exchange of digital medical images via the Internet cloud. The firm told the Boston Globe’s Scott Kirsner that it has boosted its Series B round—which Xconomy first reported in September—to $12 million with investments from Cardinal Partners of New Jersey and Galen Partners, of Stamford, CT. Galen appears to be the startup’s newest backer. The firm’s previous investors include Long River Ventures, Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation, and Partners Innovation Fund. The Globe writes that the three-year-old firm has now raised a total of $17 million.
