From the teen-ager surfing the Web to highly coordinated overseas attacks, cyberspace threats occur daily against many vital U.S. computer networks and IT infrastructure. The volume and increasing sophistication of such attacks is prompting concerns over future security measures and whether or not the U.S. can maintain adequate security to maintain services, prevent unwanted access and maintain the security of critical data. Immediate solutions are critical to U.S. national and economic security. The National Defense Industrial Association, the Navy’s San Diego-based Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, and Connect have organized this program to open a dialog with San Diego’s cyber innovators to seek their ideas on cyberwar and our commercial security protection capabilities.
