Flud — Perhaps the most social of the social news reader apps, Flud has two unique features: the “Activity Feed,” which shows the articles being read by the people you follow on Flud, and the “heart” button on each article, which immediately “fluds” or shares that article with your followers. Pros: Easy switching between streamlined text view and full Web view. Includes SMS and Tumblr integration, which most reader apps don’t. Cons: There’s an awful red “loading” graphic that pops up incessantly, getting in the way of your reading experience. Also, I couldn’t get Flud to sync with Google Reader, where I organize my RSS feeds. [Update 1/20/12: Flud informs me that it’s getting rid of the red loading bar in an impending update of the app.]
