Amory Lovins is reinventing fire—and CleanTECH San Diego, the California Center for Sustainable Energy, and Xconomy are bringing him to San Diego to explain how it can be done. In his latest book, Reinventing Fire, Lovins argues that it is possible for the U.S. to run in 2050—without oil, coal, or nuclear power—and in ways that will make the economy far stronger. Lovins will give a keynote talk, then sit down with CleanTECH San Diego CEO Jim Waring to discuss how local entrepreneurs and innovators are already applying some of the strategies that Lovins outlines in his book. Their discussion will highlight a variety of clean technologies under development in San Diego, and explore how they could be broadly applied to revolutionize markets around the world. Lovins will sign copies of his book at a reception afterward. No registrations at the door. Tickets are only available online here.
