Announcing XSITE June 14: Evernote, Uber, Zaarly, IBM’s Watson, & More

Innovators, start your engines. The economy is ramping up, and so is the innovation scene here in Boston and across the U.S.

For the past three years—starting with the theme “The Recovery Starts Here” when the economy was still in the tanks back in mid-2009—Xconomy has held a full-day event each June called XSITE, the Xconomy Summit on Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship.

This year, I am pleased to announce, we are back again, and with a somewhat happier theme: Accelerating Innovation. This year’s XSITE will take place on June 14. Once again, it will be held at Babson College, and once again Babson and Olin College will be our co-hosts. This is our biggest event of the year.

We have a truly fantastic lineup shaping up, with many speakers traveling from other cities in our network to take part, including:

Phil Libin, the CEO of Evernote, the digital organizer service with some 11 million users (tag line: “remember everything”)

Garrett Camp, Co-Founder of the red hot car service Uber, and before that StumbleUpon (where he’s currently CEO)

Katia Beauchamp, Co-Founder of e-retail beauty products shop BirchBox (and graduate of Harvard Business School)

Mok Oh, Chief Scientist at PayPal, and before that an exec with Where and EveryScape (and an MIT alum)

Bo Fishback, Co-Founder and CEO of Zaarly, the buy-or-sell-any-thing-or-service-around-you online marketplace

We even have a computer making the sojourn: IBM’s famous Jeopardy-busting supercomputer, Watson. OK, well, that’s a stretch. But Jayashree Subrahmonia, IBM’s Vice President of Engineering and Delivery for Watson Solutions, is among our speakers (and yes, she will have some Watson excitement for you, the audience, as well)

And we have recruited a host of other amazing speakers, from near and far. Here’s a sampling:

Dave Balter, Founder and CEO, BzzAgent
Bennett Fisher, CEO and Co-Founder, Retroficiency
Martin Flusberg, CEO, Powerhouse Dynamics
Ben Gardner, Founder and President, Linkwell Health
Brian Halligan, Co-Founder and CEO, HubSpot
Bettina Hein, Founder and CEO, Pixability
Nabeel Hyatt, Venture Partner, Spark Capital; Founder, Conduit Labs
Anmol Madan, Co-Founder and CEO, Ginger.io
Rick Miller, President, Olin College
Len Schlesinger, President, Babson College
Swapnil Shah, Co-Founder and CEO, FirstFuel Software
Jo Tango, Founder and Partner, Kepha Partners
Noam Wasserman, Associate Professor, Harvard Business School

Of course, this is only a taste of the fantastic group of speakers we are lining up. As always, we will also feature our XSITE “Xpo,” where a dozen startups in infotech, healthtech, and cleantech will vie for audience favorite. And, as always, there will be plenty of time for networking and making new friends.

We will be introducing additional speakers and sharing the complete agenda over the coming weeks. So please block out June 14 for XSITE 2012, and get your tickets now to take advantage of the Early Bird rate or Startup Special.

We are looking forward to seeing you at another great XSITE…
