5. Knowmia Teach This tool for building Web presentations is aimed at teachers rather than students, but it’s powerful and flexible enough to be used by just about anyone. Knowmia is a new startup (it’s part of Y Combinator’s summer 2012 batch) that aims to turn the Web’s huge collection of educational videos into organized courses curated by educators. Knowmia created the Teach app to encourage more educators to post their own Khan Academy-style lessons to the Web. It’s got PowerPoint- and Keynote-like tools for building individual slides—but the really cool feature is the ability to assemble the slides into a video, complete with audio narration.
