Wolfram, Sivak to Headline Our Healthcare in Transition Forum Dec. 10

Xconomy Forum: Healthcare in Transition

It’s no surprise that healthcare has been a huge issue this election cycle. But while the ballots will (hopefully) all be counted in a week from now, healthcare will remain front and center for years to come—and everyone agrees it will have to be dealt with in new and innovative ways.

We at Xconomy are dealing with it, too, through our ongoing coverage of healthtech startups and trends around the nation—and with a special event on the afternoon of December 10 that will convene some of the leading players in health technology and innovation from New England and beyond right here in Kendall Square.

The event is called Healthcare in Transition, and it will take place from 2:00-5:30 pm on Monday, December 10, at Microsoft’s New England Research and Development center.

Headlining the afternoon will be Bryan Sivak, the new CTO of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Joining Sivak as a keynote speaker will be the legendary Stephen Wolfram, who is best known for being the creator of Mathematica and the Wolfram|Alpha search engine, but who has been doing a lot of research and analysis in healthcare as well. On top of that, we have a who’s who of leading startups and venture investors joining us, including:

Dave Barrett, General Partner, Polaris Ventures

Paul Bleicher, Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, Humedica

Dana Callow, Co-founder and Managing Partner, Boston Millennia Partners

Graham Gardner, Co-founder and CEO, Kyruus

Rob Gillette, Co-founder and CEO, HealthEdge

Robert Goldberg, Founder, Neumitra

Chaim Indig, CEO, Phreesia

Rick Lee, CEO, Healthrageous

John Morey, Founder and CEO, MyRozi

Joseph Riley, Managing Member, Psilos

Todd Rothenhaus, Chief Medical Officer, athenahealth

Albert Santalo, CEO, CareCloud

Indig (Phreesia) and Riley (Psilos) are coming up from New York. Santalo (CareCloud) will be in from Florida, but is expanding his Boston office, and of course Sivak will be visiting from our nation’s capital. Meanwhile, Morey (MyRozi, with offices in San Francisco and Boston) is just coming out of stealth—think of the company as a Mint for healthcare. And all our speakers will be bringing important views and insights about the important technologies and trends shaping healthcare today.

It promises to be a great afternoon. We’ll have keynote talks, chats, panels, debates, post-election taunts and traumas, and plenty of time for audience questions and networking with our speakers. So get your tickets soon—the super saver rate ends this Wednesday, on Halloween, so don’t let the witching hour pass.

We’ll see you on December 10.
