Funding for New York Startups in Mobile Ad Tech and Web Monitoring

Catchpoint Systems in New York, a provider of Web and infrastructure monitoring technology, on Tuesday announced it raised $3.2 million in a Series A round led by Battery Ventures. Founded in 2008 by four expatriates from DoubleClick and Google, Catchpoint plans to use the funds for product development and growth. Its technology helps companies monitor their respective online systems.

Adcade, another local startup that received funding this month, raised $1.5 million in a seed round led by ff Venture Capital with participation from Quotidian Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Brad Harrison’s BHV, and angel investors. “We’re going to add some more developers, a sales team, and start to scale the product,” says Adcade CEO Rob Cromer.

Mobile ad tech company Adcade, founded in 2011, is developing interactive mobile ad units that can incorporate gaming elements related to the brands. For example, consumers might play a bit of tennis through a mobile ad to reveal more content. “A brand can ask you to do any kind of thing that relates to their message,” Cromer says. He plans to test drive Adcade’s ad units later this month and plans to release in the summer an ad building platform for publishers.
