NY Angels Buys 50 Startup Tickets for our April 25 Venture Challenge

Xconomy Forum: New York's Venture Challenge—Building Big to Last

With the event just 10 days away, New York Angels has grabbed a clutch of 50 tickets that will be doled out to local startups wishing to attend Xconomy’s half-day “New York’s Venture Challenge” forum on Thursday, April 25. This great event featuring some of the city’s preeminent tech entrepreneurs and venture capitalists takes place from 9:30 am to noon that day at the AppNexus headquarters at 28 West 23rd Street.

The morning’s speakers will range from David Karp, Tumblr’s founder, whose platform now boasts more than 70 million creators, to Nate Westheimer, executive director of New York Tech Meetup, who helps put local innovation in the limelight. Other featured speakers include Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal, Everyday Health founder Ben Wolin, Bijan Sabet from Spark Capital, Habib Kairouz of Rho Ventures, and Joel Cutler of General Catalyst Partners.

Karp, Blumenthal, and Wolin will be teaming up with Sabet, Cutler, and Kairouz, respectively, to share Founder-Investor stories of what it takes to build great companies.

The forum will be the place to hear about what it will take to shape a more lasting future in technology for the city. New York is eager to become more than a spot for startups to attract attention—and funding. The city is being positioned to be a platform for companies to grow and mature into thriving entities.

Brian Cohen, chairman of New York Angels, will also be at the event to offer his perspective on the determination necessary for the city’s entrepreneurs to build companies that last.

If you are interested in claiming one of the startup tickets provided by NY Angels, contact us right away at [email protected]. If you aren’t part of a startup, have no fear, tickets are still on sale here–and for those who pay attention on Twitter, I might be able to hook you up with another deal on tickets as well . . .
