The San Diego Venture Group will host the finalists in its annual pitchfest competition at its annual cocktails and dinner soiree. Judges screen more than 100 local companies through a process that weighs the merits of the innovation, investor appeal, and progress of each applicant. Judges include some of San Diego’s leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, professionals and investors. The top prize (and $10,000) was awarded last year to San Diego-based Blurtopia, a free mobile app that allows a user to post any question to a network of friends.
