Independent arts organizations everywhere on Monday got the chance to sign up for Fractured Atlas’s Artful.ly, a Web-based business management platform for the arts that had been in beta for three years. After lots of practice, practice, practice (the best way to get to Carnegie Hall), Fractured Atlas announced the platform’s wide release to help smaller theater groups, art exhibitors, and individual artists oversee ticket sales and capture patron data to better understand and reach their audience. Some 1,000 organization used Artful.ly during the beta trials.
New York-based nonprofit Fractured Atlas developed the software, which also lets users create website widgets to accept electronic donations for their organizations and exhibitions. Arts groups such as Fuxebox Festival in Austin, Third Rail Projects in New York, and Pointless Theatre in Washington, D.C. collaborated on the platform’s development.
Fractured Atlas has other management software, such as Spaces, for nonprofit arts groups and artists. Back in July Fractured Atlas acquired Gemini SBS, a software developer in New York, to further its efforts.
