University of Washington leaders including President Michael Young and Provost Ana Mari Cauce headline an afternoon of talks on a range of data science initiatives taking shape across the campus. These include a major grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to unite scientists and computer scientists to figure out better ways to handle scientific data, and to address structural barriers to the adoption of new methods and tools, and the Northwest Institute for Advanced Computing, UW’s partnership with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
