The UCSF Entrepreneurship Center presents an evening with Darren Carroll, Vice President, Corporate Business Development, Eli Lilly. Darren is in charge of Lilly Ventures, Lilly’s corporate venture capital fund and Lilly Asia Ventures, a fund that invests mainly in China, as well as business development, licensing, alliance management and private equity investments. He will speak about Lilly’s investment interests, investment criteria, how corporate venture capital differs from regular venture capital and how the fund regards early stage life science ventures. Corporate venture capital is becoming increasingly important as a funding source and Lilly Ventures was one of the first Pharmas to establish a fund.
