Announcing Xconomy University’s First Class: The Mobile Roadmap, May 6

We’re all on the move these days. And one of our biggest fears, more than losing our wallets and purses, is leaving our phones behind. But the amazing amount of innovation we’ve experienced so far when it comes to phones and mobile computing is just the tip of the iceberg. And maybe what we should fear more than losing our phones (we can always get another one) is losing our way on the mobile landscape—and missing the opportunities the fast-changing wireless industry is presenting.

To help our readers navigate—and hopefully prosper in—this rapidly evolving arena, Xconomy is hosting a one-day deep dive into the wireless industry called The Mobile Roadmap. It takes place on Tuesday, May 6, and it’s the first “course” in a new series of events we’re calling Xconomy University. Leading the way, our Professor of Mobility, so to speak, is Xconomist Mark Lowenstein, a leading wireless industry executive and analyst.

Mark will delve into what he calls “the tectonic shifts in the mobile value chain.” This will include sessions on key industry metrics, network and device evolution, major players and influencers, and emerging sectors that promise a world of new opportunity—from payments to advertising to the explosive field of mobile to mobile, or M2M.

The class will be hosted in downtown Boston at the offices of the Nutter McClennen & Fish law firm. Like any great professor, Mark will be bringing in a few expert guest instructors. Unlike most classes, though, there’ll be breakfast, lunch, and networking time to boot.

The morning will be devoted to providing a broad overview of the mobile landscape, and the afternoon will include a series of sector briefings. You can find out more about what’s in store and reserve your spot here on our registration page and save $100 by taking advantage of the Early Bird rate.

If your work or ambitions depend to any significant degree on what’s happening in mobile, we think you’ll find this one-day course well worth your while. So get moving and get your “applications” in (no SAT scores necessary). We look forward to seeing you May 6 at Xconomy U.
