Self-driving cars. Conferences you attend virtually. People visiting outer space for tourism and work. A denser Seattle, perhaps one with ultra energy efficient buildings and sophisticated aquaponic systems for growing food in the city.
These were just some of the visions that emerged from Xconomy’s conference on the future of our regional innovation ecosystem, Seattle 2035. In the coming days, we’ll be reporting on these ideas and the great discussion, predictions, trends, and other highlights from last Friday’s event, so stay tuned for more over-the-horizon thinking.
For now, here’s a few images of the event, which took place at Northeastern University’s modern South Lake Union campus, as Amazon trick-or-treaters streamed by outside. Check back for more later this week.
We are grateful to our fantastic speakers, moderators, sponsors, including our event host and platinum sponsor Northeastern University-Seattle; fellow platinum sponsors Davis Wright Tremaine and Seattle Children’s Research Institute; our silver sponsors Fenwick & West and Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center; National Partner Alexandria Real Estate Equities; and most of all to the engaged audience that spent time with us Friday. We couldn’t have done it without any of you, and we thank you.
