The startup reportedly plans to debut an app called “Way Home” that will help facilitate the transport of vehicles belonging to people who have consumed alcohol to excess.
—EnsoData, a Madison-based startup whose software uses machine learning algorithms to help clinicians score sleep data and diagnose patients with sleep apnea and other disorders, raised $550,000 from investors. Madison-based HealthX Ventures led the seed round, with some individual investors also participating. EnsoData co-founder Chris Fernandez said his company is aiming to receive 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA by the end of the year.
—Kyle Weatherly launched Vilet Street Capital, a new fund aimed at getting angel investors to provide financing to startups outside of the technology sector, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported. Weatherly previously served as president of Solaris, which makes compression garments for therapeutic use and in 2014 was acquired by Lohmann & Rauscher, a European medical devices supplier.
