Former National Mental Health Chief Thomas Insel Leaving Verily

Thomas Insel, the former National Institute of Mental Health director, has left Verily Life Sciences after less than two years. With much fanfare but few details about his plans, Insel jumped in 2015 to South San Francisco-based Verily, formerly known as Google Life Sciences. In an announcement this morning, Verily said it would continue working on a “measurement-based care platform” for people with depression. CNBC first reported the news of Insel’s departure.
