includes nurses and social workers—support unpaid family caregivers, who work to keep seniors out of nursing homes and other assisted living facilities. The company’s products help users identify whether caregivers are stressed or at risk for depression, and provide them “a clearer understanding of the impact of caregiving on their physical and emotional health and relationships.”

Startups in the Health: US 2018 program will participate in three four-day workshops held between March and June in California and the nation’s capital. At the end of the program, two companies will be selected to receive a $75,000 investment from Village Capital.

—Cimbria Capital, a Houston-based private equity firm that mainly buys and invests in agriculture and water technology businesses, said it opened an office in Milwaukee’s Global Water Center. The Global Water Center houses The Water Council, a water industry coalition, and an accelerator for water tech startups called “Business. Research. Entrepreneurship. In Wisconsin,” or the BREW.

—Curate Solutions, a Madison-based startup whose software mines documents that cities, counties, and school boards post online for information about new building projects, raised $450,000 from investors. The Idea Fund of La Crosse led the round, and other investors who participated included Inventure Capital managing director Michael Thorson, said Dale Willis, co-founder of Curate Solutions.
