clinics can integrate Buoy’s software with other licensed products to help patients with self-diagnosis and understanding care options.
Earlier this year, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin made an online symptom checker developed by Buoy available to its patients.
Buoy, which was incorporated in 2014 but didn’t launch its chatbot until March 2017, estimates that 7 million people have used the product, Le says. That’s up sharply from 2.5 million at the end of last year, he says.
“Entering into a relationship with a healthtech innovator like Buoy to connect their experience to our nationwide network of MinuteClinic providers gives us the opportunity to provide affordable care at times and locations that work best for the patients,” says Troyen Brennan, CVS’s chief medical officer, in a prepared statement.
