Twist Bioscience has appointed Aaron Sato chief scientific officer of pharma, and vice president of protein engineering. Before joining the San Francisco-based company, Sato was chief scientific officer of LakePharma. In other moves, Jim Thorburn was named chief financial officer. Thorburn was most recently chief sales officer of Televerde. Twist makes synthetic DNA for companies doing experiments in industries such as healthcare, agriculture, and industrial chemicals.
