We have a bunch of journalists at Xconomy who know how to report and write. Now we are looking to add some electricity on the marketing side of the house.
I’m specifically looking to fill a position here in the Seattle office for a summer intern with desire to build a career in social media marketing. The right candidate is someone from one of the local universities who is eager to cut his or her teeth on raising the profile of an emerging media startup. The job will involve raising awareness of Xconomy’s impact through social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, and via leading media outlets.
Since we were founded in June 2007, Xconomy has built a strong base of support from readers and sponsors. We have created a network of sites across five cities, soon to be six. We believe this company is well-positioned to grow at the precise point when so much of traditional media is in decline.
The social media marketing intern will be based out of our Seattle office, but will work with me here in Seattle, and also the editor of Xconomy San Francisco, Wade Roush. If you are interested, please send a cover letter on what you could bring to the table, a resume, and some examples of your portfolio. You can send that material to me at [email protected] and Wade at [email protected].
