Boston-Power Expands Manufacturing

Boston-Power, a Westborough, MA-based maker of long-lasting lithium-ion batteries, says that it has struck a deal with battery maker GP Batteries to dedicate GP’s entire plant in Taiwan to the production of Boston-Power’s Sonata batteries. The deal is expected to double production this year of Sonata batteries, which Boston-Power is supplying to HP as lithium-ion replacement batteries for laptops.
