Emeryville, CA-based Amyris (NASDAQ: [[ticker:AMRS]]) said today it has expanded a partnership with Brazil-based Total, in which Total will pay for more research and development, and provide capital to acquire and build production facilities for renewable diesel. Amyris made the announcement along with its quarterly earnings report. Amyris said it had a net loss of $42 million in the quarter that ended June 30, and it had about $187 million in cash and investments in the bank.
