Tuesday Roundup: 8×8, BonitaSoft, Rally to Save Pier 38

Time for the daily roundup of funding and M&A news—a short one today, as I’m flying out the door to a round of meetings and conferences.

—Sunnyvale, CA-based cloud communications provider 8×8 has acquired Contactual, a maker of cloud-based call center and customer interaction software, in an all-stock transaction, according to a press release.

—BonitaSoft, a San Francisc0-based maker of business process management software, said today that it has closed an $11 million round of Series B funding. New investor Serena Capital led the round, which was joined existing investors Ventech and Auriga Partners. BonitaSoft said it will use the new funding to “accelerate product development and support broader international corporate expansion.”

—San Francisco-based peer-to-peer car sharing startup Getaround announced that it has collected $3.4 million in seed funding from a group of investors including Michael Arrington’s CrunchFund, Netflix founder Marc Randolph, Time Warner shareholder Vivi Nevo, and Redpoint Ventures. The company also released a new version of its iPhone app for reserving cars.

—Tech-company tenants being evicted from their Pier 38 digs by the Port of San Francisc say they plan to rally to prevent the shutdown at today’s San Francisco Board of Supervisors meeting at City Hall at 3:30 pm.
