The Great Green Fleet: How San Diego Can Help the U.S. Navy Meet its Renewable Energy Mandate

Two years ago, U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus declared that 40 percent of the Department of the Navy’s total energy consumption would come from alternative sources by 2020. In San Diego, the military accounts for 25 percent of local jobs, and biofuel companies have a chance to play an integral role in helping the Navy adopt renewable technologies. This event will feature keynote speakers Rear Admiral Dixon Smith, Commander, Navy Region Southwest and the Honorable Mayor Jerry Sanders. Companies that are delivering clean energy solutions to the US Armed Forces will be showcased throughout the evening. More information and online registration is here.
