NYC Bio Luminaries to Gather Oct. 4th for Xconomy Xchange

Xconomy is gearing up for what’s sure to be a stimulating panel event, Xconomy Xchange: Reinventing Biotech’s Business Model for the Big Apple, which will be held the evening of Thursday, October 4. But the early bird discount is ending in just a couple of days, so order your tickets today.

The evening will feature a keynote address from Sam Waksal, former ImClone CEO and now founder and CEO of Kadmon Pharmaceuticals. Then we’ll have a panel discussion covering a range of burning issues facing every biotech entrepreneur in New York City: Where can affordable wet-lab space be found? How viable are alternative financing mechanisms, such as grant funding and venture capital from non-profit organizations? How can companies attract talent away from more famous biotech hubs, such as Boston and San Francisco? We’ll cover all of those issues, and more.

Our panelists include Kevin Kinsella, founder and managing director of Avalon Ventures, Jill O’Donnell-Tormey, CEO and director of scientific affairs for the Cancer Research Institute, and Arthur Tinkelenberg, CEO of Enumeral Biomedical. The panel will be moderated by one of our Xconomists, Dennis Purcell, senior managing partner at Aisling Capital.

Xconomy Xchange: Reinventing Biotech’s Business Model for the Big Apple will be held October 4th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Apella Event Space at Alexandria Center for Life Science. There will be a networking reception, too. Check out our special rates for students and startups—plus the early bird discount, which ends September 6. And don’t forget to follow the conversation on Twitter, at #xcbiobizNY. We look forward to seeing you there.
