Backstage Access to the Hottest Bands in the Technology Industry!
Xconomy and the Washington Technology Industry Association are teaming up to put on a tech networking event that really rocks—Seattle’s first-ever Xconomy Battle of the Tech Bands, at WTIA’s Annual Summer Celebration. Musicians from the Seattle area’s most innovative companies will play their geeky hearts out—you pick the winners!
There are few better ways to enjoy a hot summer day than spending time with friends, a cold beer and good chow, and great music from local bands. So join us and all our partners for the must attend event of the summer! (Event registration info is here.)

Location: Pyramid Alehouse Brewery, 1201 1st Avenue South, Seattle, WA.
Time: Doors open at 5:00 pm, music starts at 6:00 sharp.

Information for Bands
Who’s eligible: At least one member of your band must work for a Seattle-area or Northwest technology or life sciences company or a venture-capital or private-equity firm that invests in technology. All levels of bands are welcome—from club veterans to garage hackers. All musical styles are welcome.
Prizes: There will be two Grand Prize winners. The crowd will choose the Audience Favorite, and our elite panel of judges will award a second grand prize for Most Innovative band.
Logistics: Up to six bands will compete for the prizes. Each band will get 15 minutes of set time. Bands can perform as many songs as they like within this 15-minute period.
How to Enter: If you and your band want to join the battle, please send an e-mail to [email protected] and include the following:
The name of your band
The name(s) of the technology, life sciences, or investment firms at which your members work
Names of all band personnel and their instruments
Band leader e-mail and phone contact information
At least one MP3 demo recording of a song performed by your band
URLs for your band’s website and/or MySpace or Facebook page
Deadline: We must receive your entry by midnight on Friday, June 12, 2009.

Due to venue capacity restrictions, registration is limited. As a non-profit organization, Washington Technology Industry Association regrets that we cannot refund registration fees due to cancellations or non-attendance. However, we do encourage you to send another person in your place for that particular event, should you be unable to attend.
To make an attendee substitution, please log into your online profile and change the guest name or email [email protected] by 5pm on Wednesday, July 29th. If you have a substitution after this time, please have them go to the onsite registration desk and inform the attendant for whom he/she is substituting.
