Battery in $70M Round at ExactTarget

Battery Ventures, a venture firm with an office in Waltham, MA, has led a $70 million financing round for e-mail marketing software firm ExactTarget, according to a press release. ExactTarget, which is headquartered in Indianapolis, has also withdrawn plans for an initial public offering. As part of the sizable venture deal, Battery general partner Michael Brown is joining the board of directors at ExactTarget. Brown is based in Boston, according to Battery’s website.
