Wednesday is “hump day” for Denver Startup Week. The panels continue, and so does the networking.
The Big Event
Startup Crawl: Tech companies around downtown will throw their doors open Wednesday afternoon for the startup crawl. With more than 35 companies participating and at least 20 stops (click the link for a list), the event will give entrepreneurs and job seekers the chance to connect, startups the chance to show off their products and offices, and everyone the chance to have fun. Most locations will have food and drinks (i.e. beer) available.
The crawl begins at 2 p.m. at the Denver Beer Co., 1695 Platte St., or Wynkoop Brewing, 1634 18th St. Startups will open up for visitors around 3 p.m., and the event will wind down between 6 and 7 p.m. Of course, if you want to keep pushing on, no one’s stopping you.

Thinking Globally, Starting Locally: Startup Colorado is an organization created by entrepreneurs who want to boost the “entrepreneurial ecosystem” in Denver and Boulder and along Colorado’s Front Range between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. This summer it announced it has created a Community Fund that will donate money to organizations that seek to “assist in amplifying the dialogue around entrepreneurship, innovation and high growth enterprises and enhance the development of startup communities in the state.”
On Wednesday at 8 a.m., the organization will announce the first grant recipients at a breakfast at the Denver office of Polsinelli on the 6th floor of 1515 Wynkoop St. High profiles speakers like Brad Feld are on the schedule to speak about the program’s mission and goals for the next year.
Grand Designs: While Xconomy focuses on the technology and business events that are part of Denver Startup Week, there also are dozens of panels devoted to design and manufacturing, with some interesting events on Wednesday’s schedule.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (1485 Delgany St.) is hosting a breakfast at 8 a.m. for people interested in the intersection of design and tech, and panels about product design and user experience/user interface continue through the day. Check here for a full list of design-focused events.
