Now in its fifth year, this event where new startups are formed during a marathon weekend is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The event culminates in with the semi-finalists pitching to a group of judges. The top two teams from Detroit will go on to the Global Startup Battle to compete against teams from cities from all over the world. Google for Entrepreneurs is offering prizes, including a $20,000 matching grant (based on a custom crowdfunding campaign), trips to Google HQ in California, and more. Detroit’s first place team will have the opportunity to be a finalist for Bizdom’s 2014 Winter accelerator, leading to a chance to pitch/apply for $125,000 in seed money.
