The first San Diego Mini Maker Faire is part teach-in and part festival for the people who create, build, design, tinker, modify, hack, invent, or simply make something. Mini Maker Faires are independently-organized and community-driven events created with the permission of Make magazine and organizers of the flagship Maker Faires. The San Diego event is intended to catalyze transformation of social institutions that result in better understanding of STEAM by many more people and which will lead to increased creativity, more innovation, better educational and increased economic productivity.
