Big Data and the U.S. Military

Increasing demand for Big Data (Pictures, Video, and corresponding Meta Data) the increased resolution of cameras and high tech sensors is saturating existing networks. The ability to ingest, tag, and disseminate Big Data is being overwhelmed by the volume of photo/video data being produced. In the U.S. military, access to raw and actionable intelligence data in disconnected, intermittent, and low-bandwidth communication environments (such as surface ships) can be challenging. To prevent data overload; raw data needs to be fused and disseminated directly from the source (sensors).
