Baird Venture Capital Group Raising $150M For Fourth Fund

The venture capital arm of Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird & Co. intends to raise $150 million for a fourth fund, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel first reported the news.

Baird has yet to collect any of the money, according to the document filed Friday with the S.E.C.

A Baird spokeswoman declined to comment.

Baird raised more than $170 million for its third venture fund, the company said in 2008.

Baird’s venture capital group invests in young companies in healthcare and technology-enabled services. It has 24 companies from around the country in its portfolio, including three in Wisconsin, according to its website. The Badger State investments are in Catalyze.io, a Madison company that has built a cloud-based technology platform for the development of mobile healthcare applications; Montage Talent, a video technology firm based in Delafield; and Zurex Pharma, a Middleton company developing antimicrobial products.
