See You Later at Xconomy Xchange: Nurturing a Startup Ecosystem

Start off your St. Paddy’s Day celebration right with our Xconomy Xchange event today, featuring Jason Mendelson on sustaining and nurturing a startup ecosystem.

Mendelson is the managing director and co-founder of the Foundry Group, a Boulder, CO-based venture fund that invests in early-stage information technology, Internet, and software startups. He’s also a metro Detroit native and University of Michigan graduate who is passionate about Detroit and has valuable insights on nurturing vibrant innovation ecosystems.

Following our chat with Mendelson, we’ll continue the conversation with a panel of local entrepreneurs. Brentt Baltimore is a Venture for America fellow who’s currently working as an analyst at Detroit Venture Partners while he gets his company, Startup Effect, off the ground. Carla Walker-Miller is the founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services, as well as the executive director of the nonprofit Water Assistance Volunteer Effort. Moses Lee is the founder of Seelio, an Ann Arbor-based startup. Seelio has developed an online networking platform to help students and fledgling professionals showcase their talent that Lee has characterized as an alternative to LinkedIn.

After our discussion, we’ll break out the (non-green) beer and pizza. Hope to see you there! We have a few tickets left; click here to register.
