After four years as Xconomy San Francisco editor, Wade Roush, our new editor-at-large, is handing me the reins, and I couldn’t be more excited.
I’ve worked as a freelancer for Xconomy for the past four years, writing stories about everything from a food subscription service to educational robots to start-ups going after the Internet of things, and even a company working to reinvent the egg. Spending time with the inventive people behind these startups has been a pleasure, and I’m really looking forward to being a bigger part of Xconomy, with more time to devote to writing about the innovative projects that are happening right now. I’m excited to hear about what you’re working on, and the way you view new trends and changes coming to the Bay Area tech scene.
I love writing about companies that are trying on new business models, finding ways to disrupt stagnant spaces, and looking at the world in a whole new way. And I’m always excited to hear about what’s happening on the culture side, both in terms of what’s going on within companies and the tech scene as a whole.
After stints working for The Washington Post, BusinessWeek, Wired, and others, it’s a pretty fun experience to work for a startup covering startups. Like you, we’re an evolving and agile company, shifting to provide the best coverage, and trying out new things. In my new role, I’ll be working to figure out the best way to cover the news and tell the stories that matter most to this tech community, and I’d love to hear what you think.
