Kaufer, Bowles, Halamka Join Boston 2034 Lineup on June 10

It’s going to be the blow-out innovation event of the season.

We are hard at work on the agenda for Boston 2034, our biggest conference to date. It’s all happening on June 10 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.

The idea is to look out 20 years and think about what it will take to build the innovative city of the future—Boston, that is—and more broadly, what the challenges and opportunities are for New England innovators to solve some of the world’s big problems in technology, healthcare, education, and energy.

We’ve added a number of high-profile speakers to the program since we first announced it. They include:

Stephen Kaufer, co-founder and CEO of TripAdvisor, the biggest Internet company in the Boston area.

Ian Bowles, co-founder and managing director of WindSail Capital Group, and former Massachusetts Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

John Halamka, CIO and Dean for Technology at Harvard Medical School, a renowned leader in health IT innovation.

I want to highlight these three because they span technology and software, energy and cleantech, and healthcare—all major strengths of the Boston area that we seek to emphasize at the conference.

We have an all-star cast already in place for June 10. They include inventor Dean Kamen; One Laptop Per Child founder Nicholas Negroponte; Boston Scientific co-founder John Abele; Google VP of Research Alfred Spector; co-lead of MIT’s Innovation Initiative Fiona Murray; MassChallenge founder and CEO John Harthorne; incoming Techstars Boston head Semyon Dukach; Founder Collective’s Eric Paley; Polaris Partners’ Terry McGuire; Flagship Ventures’ Noubar Afeyan; MIT’s SENSEable City Lab director Carlo Ratti; LearnLaunch co-founder Jean Hammond; Oasys Water CEO Jim Matheson; American Well CEO Roy Schoenberg; IDEO’s Rodrigo Martinez; and IBM VP of Global Business Services Nicole Gardner.

There will be plenty of time for networking, and we want to make the sessions especially interactive. So this is a conference where the audience—you—will play a major role in shaping the discussions of the day.

Tickets are going fast, but you can get yours here. See you all on June 10.
