British theoretical physicist and mathematician Freeman Dyson, renowned for his work in quantum field theory, solid-state physics, and nuclear engineering, will speak on “Nukes and Genomes” as part of U.C. San Diego’s Helen Edison Lecture Series. Previous speakers include former Vice President Al Gore, Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, and author Toni Morrison, a Nobel Prize winner in Literature. Dyson, who is now retired, spent much of his life as a professor of physics at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University. The event is free and open to the public with no tickets or reservations required.
