Boston Deal Watch: RedPoint Global, Nift, BlueArchive, Cogito

It’s time to catch up on a few recent investments in Boston-area tech startups, including a new data storage company from the founders of Carbonite. Read on for details.

—RedPoint Global said Wednesday it snagged $12 million in Series C funding from Grotech Ventures and WP Global Partners. Located just outside of Boston in Wellesley, MA, RedPoint sells marketing and data management software. The company previously raised two funding rounds totaling just under $12 million, SEC filings show.

—Cambridge, MA-based Nift raised $3 million for its software-enabled network that allows local businesses to give their best customers vouchers for goods and services at other neighborhood businesses. The seed funding round was led by Spark Capital and Accomplice.

—BlueArchive, a stealthy new cloud data storage startup from Carbonite founders Jeff Flowers and David Friend, has raised more than $1.9 million from investors, an SEC filing shows. The document lists Flowers and Friend as BlueArchive executives and directors, along with Foley & Lardner attorney Susan Pravda. The company was founded this year, according to the filing and Flowers’ LinkedIn page.

—Cogito raised $1 million, according to a new SEC filing. That follows a $5.5 million Series A funding round raised by the Boston startup in November. The MIT Media Lab spinout provides voice-analysis software that it says can be used to help improve the performance of call center workers.
